18 wheeler -  twin action, formanka, year zero

an interesting set of releases. very creation sounding, but with slight variations in style per release. opening release is quite lightweight and has some lovely teenage fanclub-esque tracks, while not groundbreaking or sonically challenging this is very pleasant stuff (all bar a pretty dreadful attempt at a reggae based track towards the end .. but lets not go there !). second release is much more direct. the guitars are a lot more solid, the songs more direct and everything is over and done with within 30 odd minutes, for me this is the best of the 3, there is a definite influence from the grunge era, but this is pared down with some excellent string arrangements which bolsters the sound lovingly. third and final release, year zero, was an attempt to introduce modern dance techniques to the sound, processed drum beats and samples, again this was not well received by the public en-mass but for this listener this was hugely enjoyable.
so to summarise .. nice songs, lots of chiming guitars - hmm its a creation band.
